Blogging really helped me understand rhetoric and tone. And how to keep my tone constant throughout each blog post. I say to continue having students do the blogs; in the beginning they may hate it, but in the end they will realize how much blogging has helped them (or at least realize that it wasn't as bad as they thought it was going to be). This class has really taught me a lot. Blogging has really, really, helped me; Blogging should be mandatory in all English classes.
I really enjoyed this class and can honestly say that I'm a little sad that it's over.
I think that this is such a great/sad blog. It was fun to read that you enjoyed it, but the fact that it's over is sad. But I guess it's true when they say that all great things come to an end. Great way to end your blog ! loved the pictures by the way !
ReplyDeleteAlison, glad to hear you enjoyed blogging. I felt the same way too when I first found out that we were going to have to do blog entries for this class. It turned to be my favorite writing assignment as well. I think that is a great idea about making a blog when you get married and have kids to keep your family posted. I thought about doing that myself too. I thought The Shooting Allens blog was too cute! Hope you have a great summer :)
ReplyDeleteI was in the same boat as you when the class first started and found we had to do a blog, thinking it was going to be some lame project that we had to write about something that hasn't anything to do with our lives. But I thought was a OK assignment, better then doing the writing projects.
ReplyDeleteLike the others, I thoroughly enjoyed writing all the blog posts as they really weren't as tedious as the writing projects and the Final reflective essay, and I had gotten used to expressing myself online.
